LIBERTY — The Dog Days of Summer Craft Beer Crawl will take visitors through downtown Liberty Saturday, Aug. 17. Attendees are encouraged to stroll through downtown Liberty shops from 3 to 7 p.m. to sip samples from breweries from around the country.
Historic Downtown Liberty Inc. Executive Director Vicki Vance said ticket sales have been steady, but the final week and last few days before the event generate a bulk of the sales.
“People are waiting to see what the weather is like,” she said, adding the annual event typically sells out. The early forecast from weather.com has Saturday at partly cloudy with the temperature around 87 degrees.
“We have 18 beer stops at local businesses and restaurants,” Vance said. “The local businesses love it. People are going in and often their feedback includes that these visitors are surprised about what businesses are found around the Square. If it’s warm or humid, people enjoy the air-conditioned shops even more.”
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Brant’s, 15 E. Kansas St.; Whiteside Jewelry, 16 E. Franklin St.; More Excuses Boutique, 2 N. Main St.; or online by visiting www.historicdowntownliberty.org. Included in the price are beer samples, snacks and a commemorative taster glass.
“A fun time is had by all,” Vance said.
