KEARNEY — Mid-Continent Public Library will hold a rededication ceremony for the Kearney branch at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at 100 S. Platte-Clay Way.

“You are invited as we turn the page and begin a new chapter in the history of this Mid-Continent Public Library branch,” states a library system release.

The library, along with branches throughout the library system, received updates with funding generated by voter passage of Proposition L in 2016. Passed was an 8-cent operating tax levy increase.

Updates to the Kearney branch, which began last year and were completed this spring, included a new community room, enhanced entryway with automatic doors, outdoor seating area, paint, new carpet, updated computer equipment and WiFi and landscaping.

The rededication is open to the public.
