LIBERTY — The Liberty Hospital Foundation was awarded a $15,859 Community Project Grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri.  The grant supports the foundation’s Women’s Health Fund.

“The Liberty Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with Liberty Hospital Women’s Imaging on its mission to ensure all women in our community have access to screenings that can save lives,” said Midori Carpenter, foundation executive director. “Through this grant, Dr. Amy Patel and her team will be able to offer mammograms, biopsies, transportation and improved patient navigation to women who otherwise would not be able to afford that care.”

"This grant will help women in our part of the state who desperately need access to breast health care. Now, we can help them and mitigate the financial burden and worry they feel which may have previously prevented a woman from seeking treatment," said Patel, a fellowship-trained breast radiologist and medical director of Liberty Hospital Women’s Imaging. "This is just the beginning of building on our efforts to improve access to care."
