Kearney Senior Center will offer free games of Wii bowling at 9 a.m. followed by PEPPI exercise class at 10 a.m. The center serves lunch at 11:30 a.m. at 600 N. Jefferson St. Meals are $4.50 each. Visitors and locals alike are invited to learn about the history of Kearney at the Kearney Historic Museum, 101 S. Jefferson St. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Friday. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

Kearney Mayor Randy Pogue will host a town hall where residents can provide thoughts and feedback to the city’s top elected official at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall, 100 E. Washington St.

First Friday Book Group meets at 10 a.m. at Kearney’s Mid-Continent branch, 100 S. Platte-Clay Way.

Kearney Farmers & Artisan Market will be open from 7 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Kearney School District Early Education Center, located at the corner of Missouri Highways 33 and 92.

The E. Howard Porter Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5717 offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. For more details, call 628-4548.

Weekly technical help for computers, cellphones and other handheld devices is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Firehouse Community Center’s Tech Cafe. For more information, call 903-3535. The help is also on Wednesday.

OATS Transit provides transportation to essential shopping destinations between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to seniors age 60 and older and those with disabilities age 18 to 59. Fare is $2 each way. To schedule a ride on the above routes call the OATS Transit office at 800-480-6287 or 380-7433.

Storytime for babies, where children are read a story, is from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. at the Kearney Mid-Continent branch. Storytime for preschoolers is from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Teen STEAM, a workshop for teen writers, is at 2:30 p.m. Registration for the workshop is required by searching the online branch offerings at www.mymcpl.org or calling 628-5055.

A weekly senior citizen dance will be at 1 p.m. at Annunciation Community Center, 705 N. Jefferson St. in Kearney. For details, call 628-5030,

The Kearney Food Pantry, which offers temporary food assistance to area residents who live within the Kearney School District boundaries, is open for those needing assistance from 2 to 4 p.m. at the rear entrance of 113 E. Storytime for toddlers is from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Kearney library branch. Storytime for families is at 10:30 a.m.

Kearney Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. in the board room located at the Early Education Center, 150 W. Missouri Highway 92.

Thursday, July 18

Mid-Continent Public Library will hold a rededication ceremony for the Kearney branch at 8:30 a.m.

Cards and Coffee, a weekly event aimed at bringing members of the community together, will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Firehouse Community Center, 106 S. Jefferson St. For more information, call 903-3535.

The Kearney Food Pantry is open for those needing assistance from 3 to 6 p.m. Call 903-4763 for details.
