Midnight Blue Jazz presents “Bringing the Legends to Life” at 8 p.m. at the Liberty Performing Arts Theatre, 1600 S. Withers Road. With a grant from the Liberty Arts Foundation, Midnight Blue Jazz along with Kansas City’s Vine Street Rumble Jazz Orchestra and the Liberty and Liberty North High School Jazz All-Stars, are offering a performance that will highlight the music of Kansas City’s greatest jazz legends. Saturday, Aug. 24

Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers Market runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors carry a variety of produce, flowers, meat, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods and some craft items. Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers Market accepts credit and debit cards.

Starting at 9 a.m., the Master Gardeners will hold a work day at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, 407 N. La Frenz Road. Storytime with a naturalist is 1:30 p.m. and the animals in the center are fed at 3 p.m.
