A Team Up to Clean Up event in Liberty’s parks will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Residents can gather in Stocksdale Park, 901 S. La Frenz Road. Parks staff will distribute trash bags and gloves. At 7 p.m., the Liberty Parks Department offers a screening of “Wonder Park.” Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets to watch the movie under the stars.

Saturday, Aug. 10

Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers Market runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. around the Liberty Square. Vendors carry a variety of produce, flowers, meat, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods and some craft items. Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers Market accepts credit and debit cards.

Women of Hope, a support group for cancer patients and survivors, meets from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Liberty Hy-Vee Market Grille, 109 Blue Jay Drive. For more details, call 741-7095.

Starting at 9 a.m., Master Gardeners will be at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, 407 N. La Frenz Road, for a work day. At 10 a.m., the Northland Woodcarvers will work. At 1:30 p.m., there is storytime with a naturalist, and at 3 p.m., animals at the center are fed.

Monday, Aug. 12

Storytime for families is at 5:30 p.m. at the Liberty branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library, 1000 Kent St. At 7 p.m., the Starlight book group meets.

Storytime for toddlers is 9:15, 10, 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. at the Woodneath Library Center.

The Liberty City Council will meet for a regular session meeting at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 101 E. Kansas St.

Tuesday, Aug. 13

Liberty Small Business Network meets at 8:30 a.m. at Wicklund’s CARSTAR, 941 Sutton Place. A different speaker is featured each week.

The Liberty Community Center outdoor pools will be closed weekdays, but will be open weekends and holidays starting today through Labor Day.

Moonlight Yoga begins around 8:45 p.m. in Stocksdale Park. Moonlight Yoga is a monthly benefit for the off-leash dog park instructed and coordinated by Patti Stark, owner of Serenity on the Square.
