LIBERTY — Liberty residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste at a mobile collection event from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 15, at the Liberty School Services facility, 801 Kent St.

Liberty residents can also take household hazardous products to collection facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit free of charge throughout the year.

Tips for gathering household hazardous waste for safer disposal includes sealing containers tightly, bringing items in original containers inside a sturdy box and not mix products together.

"If the original container is leaking or damaged, transfer the product to a safe container and relabel. Be prepared to leave the containers too," states a release.
