SMITHVILLE — Danielle Boyle, a Platte County High School graduate, was awarded Smithville Knights of Columbus Council No. 9272's Advanced Education Assistance Program $500 scholarship to help offset costs associated with her attendance at Metropolitan Community College — Maple Woods beginning later this month.

Boyle is daughter of Rick and Debbie Boyle of Platte City and granddaughter of Knights of Columbus member Richard Boyle.

To qualify, Danielle had to perform at least 40 hours of service with the council over a period of years. The program is restricted to graduating seniors who are associated with Knights of Columbus Council No. 9272 by being a child, grandchild or legal dependent of a member of the council.

The Knights have openings for six scholarships per year.

Those interested in applying for this opportunity in coming years are encouraged to reach out to Knights of Columbus Council No. 9272 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18601 N. U.S. Highway 169 in Smithville.
