KEARNEY — Kearney Senior Center will once again host a resource fair for area seniors, this year from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the center, 600 N. Jefferson St.
Kathy Meinert, who oversees operations of the center with her husband Ken Meinert, said this year’s event will be the biggest ever.
“We have more vendors this year than ever before with lots of freebies and door prizes,” she said, adding guests do not have to be present to win prizes. “It’s a great place for seniors to learn the many things available to them or for younger folks to find out what is available for their parents or grandparents.”
This year’s list of more than 25 vendors includes retirement communities, health care facilities, insurance experts and government groups including Excelsior Springs Community Center, the city of Kearney, Good Samaritan Center, Clay County Public Health Center, SERC Physical Therapy, Humana, Clay County Senior Services, Norterre, Kearney Enrichment Council’s Senior Social Club and Tech Cafe and Kearney Food Pantry.
For more details, call the center between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday or Friday ahead of the event.
