Arrest nets enough fentanyl to kill 327,000 people

CLAY COUNTY — Deputies with Clay County Sheriff ’s Office seized enough fentanyl during an arrest last week that has the potential to kill 327,000. The bust, the biggest fentanyl bust in Clay County history, came when Josiah J. Langston, 21, was arrested Aug. 15 in the 3900 block of North Skiles Avenue after deputies had been looking for Langston due to a felony drug trafficking warrant for his arrest.

Randall “Randy” Carl Phillips, age 76, of Liberty, MO died at home on August 17, 2024, surrounded by his wife and family, his baptism in Christ, complete. Randy had a brief time of hospice care after a metastatic melanoma diagnosis but lived his life with purpose and love to his last breath, just as he had done for more than seven decades, a life full of gratitude, laughter, and service.
