Karen Sue Akin, 59, of Boynton, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home.
 She was born Septem­ber 28, 1965, in Rich­mond, Missouri, the daughter of Gary Wayne Cunningham and Betty Sue (Howard) Eppard.
 Karen was a home­maker.
 She married Jeffery Akin on February 14, 1997 in Clay County.
 Karen enjoyed follow­ing and supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.
 Survivors include her husband, Jeffery of the home; her children, Mark Akin of Boynton, Josh Akin of Kansas City, Missouri and Destinee Morgan and her husband, Brian of Muskogee; her grandchildren, Eileen Morgan and Jessee Mor­gan; her parents, Gary Cunningham and Betty Eppard; her siblings, Mark Cunningham and his wife, Jill of Smithville, Missouri and Danny Cunningham of Kansas City; her neph­ews, Kyle and Tyler Cun­ningham of Kansas City and numerous other fam­ily and friends.
 She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert Cunningham and others.
 The family will con­duct a private service on their own.
