In time for UV Safety Awareness Month in July, North Kansas City Hospital will host a sun protection class from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes St.

“From sunblock to sunglasses, get tips on protecting your skin so you can maximize your fun in the sun. Plus, learn the ABCDE’s of skin cancer, how to do a skin self-assessment and when to see a doctor about a mole,” states a release.

The event is free, but registration is required.

A virtual class on diabetes will be available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14.

“Diabetes can be hard to manage. Learn the do’s and don’ts of controlling your glucose level and pick up some tips for building healthier habits,” states a NKC Hospital release.

Another virtual class on heartburn will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 20.

“Led by Laura Habighorst, certified gastroenterology nurse, join us for an open discussion on the common causes of acid reflux and effective treatment options,” states a release.
