Library hosts LitUp Creative Contest 2020

Kansas City area teens are invited to participate in the LitUp Creative Contest for a chance to be featured in a creative anthology and win a prize.

Teens with a passion for art are invited to submit a work of fiction, nonfiction, poetry or visual art for a chance to win one of three prizes and a chance to be included in an anthology of works as part of the LitUp Festival, a book festival for teens by Mid-Continent Library System.

Submissions can be made through March 9 online at mymcpl.org/events/litup.

Top submissions from each category will be featured in the 2020 LitUp Creative Contest anthology. The first place winner will receive $250 while a Kindle Fire HD 10 will be presented to the second place winner. Third place receives a selection of books from recognized LitUp authors.

Winners will be recognized during the LitUp Festival Saturday, May 2.
