'Footloose' dances across Liberty stage

LIBERTY — Liberty Middle School will present "Footloose" beginning at 7 p.m. March 5 through 7 at the Liberty Performing Arts Theater, 1600 S. Withers Road.

Footloose is a tale about teenager Ren McCormack and the shock he's in for when moving to little Bomont, Texas from the big city of Chicago. Upon arrival, he quickly learns that the town doesn't allow any dancing.

Mandated by the town reverend, it is an uphill battle as McCormack tries to change the rules to embrace dancing. Teaming with his new best friend Willard and Ariel, a defiant daughter of the reverend, the trio are able to host a school dance and ultimately find that dancing is exactly what the town needs.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at lps53.org/tickets or by calling the fine arts department at 736-5660.
