Happy volunteering

Emmanuel Bible Church of Smithville and City Union Mission of Kansas City partnered together for a canned goods collection. Church volunteers stood outside the Price Chopper in Smithville on Saturday, July 10. Two brothers, Aidan Birks and his younger brother Jonah, helped carry the donations of such things as canned corn, green beans, mixed vegetables, canned peaches, canned pears and instant potatoes into the truck with the help of Dennis Ellis of church relations with City Union Mission. The church collected more than 707 pounds of donated goods and cash.
