The 9/11 Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony united the city of Liberty, Clay County along with Liberty fire and police honor guards. The ceremony was held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Memorial at Courtyard Plaza, located at the corner of Kansas and Water streets. Liberty Mayor Lyndell Brenton and Presiding Commissioner Jerry Notlte spoke of the loss of lives and offered appreciation to the community's first responders. Gary Mosby played the bagpipes to close the ceremony.
