LIBERTY — HydroDog is rolling its way across the Northland, bringing its blue, dog-shaped mobile truck and services to locals’ furrier friends.

As the first Kansas City franchise owner of HydroDog Mobile Dog Grooming, Greg Koelling spent time traveling all over the Northland, from Smithville to Parkville to Kearney and Liberty.

Now the company has three trucks and other personnel providing services to the Kansas City metro area.

“We have everything here in the back,” he said of the HydroDog mobile grooming stations. “We’ve got a tub, we’ve got the table, all the equipment that we need and a little tool box to store everything.

“We do anything from haircuts to a bath and brush out. We aren’t show groomers, we aren’t doing that poodle that just won that Westminster thing, but I can give an attempt at it I guess,” he added with a laugh.

Each truck has a name, Koelling said. Driving Chief, the franchise owner said there also is Royal and Sport.

“We try to keep the Kansas City team themes,” he added.

Aside from seeing him in public and getting a business card, there are a few ways families can request services for grooming.

For services from Koelling, call 977-7370 or email greg@hydrodog.com.

Other groomers can be scheduled online at hydrodog.com. Visitors can put in a zip code to see if someone is available in that area.

“You can request each truck by its truck name,” Koelling said.

Those interested in becoming a franchisee can also visit hydrodog.com for more details.
