SMITHVILLE — Dan Hartman was appointed to Smithville's Economic Development Committee during a Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday, Sept. 17.

In his application, Hartman wrote, "After living here for over 16 years, it is time to give back to the city some of my time."

Feeling qualified through his involvement with residential and commercial real estate, Hartman said he thinks his experience made him a good candidate.

"I am truly excited to be working with the mayor, aldermen and city staff to bring commercial businesses to Smithville," Hartman said of the appointment.
