KEARNEY — Mayor Randy Pogue wants to hear what is important to his constituents. Kearney’s top elected leader is planning three citizen meetings at various times of day over the next five months to gather input from city residents.

“I want to give you the opportunity to speak with me one on one, no agenda,” he wrote in a release and social media post on Facebook. “I want to hear from you. I want to hear your thoughts, what you think we can do better and your compliments.”

Meetings will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. July 12, 8 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 11 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14. All will take place at Kearney City Hall, 100 E. Washington St.

Pogue said he hopes by holding meetings on various days of the week and at differing times, he can get a good representation of the population to come out and provide their insights.

“I’m always available by meeting, phone or email. I feel this is simply another avenue to connect and work with the citizens I serve,” he said.
