KEARNEY — The city will host an open house for longtime Kearney employee Jay Bettis from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Kearney City Hall, 100 E. Washington St. Bettis, the city's outgoing utilities director, is slated to retired at the end of 2019, but will retain a contract with the city for needed future consulting work.

A full story on Bettis' service to the city will be published in a future edition of the Courier-Tribune.
