Smithville Think-Tank strategic planning June 8

Following registration, the event will feature a 15-minute introduction before moving into discussions.

SMITHVILLE — The city reminds community members of a Smithville Future Think-Tank workshop scheduled to begin with registration at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in Smithville High School cafeteria, 645 S. Commercial Ave.

Following registration, the event will feature a 15-minute introduction before moving into discussions including future trends and emergent issues, city survey results, attributes of successful communities and key drivers and a scenario matrix.

There will be two, 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break. Community members will be divided, throughout the event, into groups to discuss and brainstorm ideas. Additionally, information will be compiled and used to target areas and create a strategic growth plan for the city.

Smithville’s Vision and Strategic Action Plan project will continue through the year and aims to include the whole community and reflect core community values.
