KANSAS CITY — Mid-Continent Public Library’s North Oak branch at 8700 N. Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, is closed until further notice due to potential COVID-19 exposure.
“The branch was immediately closed when a staff member was confirmed positive for the virus today, Dec. 11,” states a MCPL release.
All library staff who were potentially exposed will be screened and monitored before returning to work. Professional deep cleaning services will take place during the closure.
The library system reported it is working with the Kansas City Health Department to determine all necessary and additional next steps. An announcement will be made when curbside services resume, states the release.
“The health and safety of staff and customers are MCPL’s highest priorities,” states the release.
