HOLT — By a slim margin of three overall votes, unofficial election results from Tuesday, April 2, show voters in Clinton and Clay counties elected Ralph Wright to the Holt Community Fire Protection District board. The term is for six years.

In Clay County, Jerry Nicas, a current city alderman, took 41 votes or 51 percent of the 80 county votes cast to Ralph Wright’s 38 votes or nearly 47 percent.

In Clinton County however, Wright bested Nicas with 29 votes to Nicas’ 23, pushing him ahead for the win.
