SMITHVILLE — The annual Festival of Quilts will return from 1 to 7 p.m. Sept. 20, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21, at First Christian Church in Smithville, 201 N. Bridge St. The show will be held in conjunction with the annual Smithville Old Fashioned Street Faire on Sept. 21.
Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site hosts a living history farm from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday through the first weekend in August.
Gov. Parson recently signed legislation that is meant to protect the state’s No. 1 industry: agriculture. The bill, which was approved by the Missouri General Assembly during the 2019 regular session, will provide consistency in the way farm operations across the state are regulated.

Kearney Amphitheater’s 2015 season will begin with the Kearney Blues Fest on Saturday, May 23, in Jesse James Park, 3001 N. Missouri Highway 33. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the show beginning at 5.
