Women’s Bible study day and time has changed. The group now meets at 9 a.m. Tuesdays.

There is a youth Bible quiz kick-off and training event at Olathe Living Hope Church from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, in Olathe, Kansas. A parents information meeting for children’s Bible quiz will be after services on Sunday, Aug. 11 and 18.

The monthly third Thursday men’s fellowship lunch is Thursday, Aug. 15, at Gino’s Italian Cuisine, 123 E. Washington St.

St. James Catholic Church of Liberty

This year’s family fun night will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and will feature inflatables, a beer garden and food trucks including SnowieKC, Humdinger and Slater’s Pizza, Wings & Things. Uncle Dave’s BBQ will be the barbecue vendor. In addition, entertainment also includes St. James’ own Ukeladies, Matthew Maggi and Damien Gunn Band.

Clay County Christian Church

The church, 1200 Missouri Highway B in Liberty, will hold a free back-to-school barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. There will be hot dogs, chips, popcorn, nachos and dessert and more.

Paradise United Methodist Church

An ice cream social will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the church, 18501 Church St. in Smithville. During the event, several flavors of homemade ice cream and different homemade desserts will be available. In addition to sweets, a church bazaar will feature garden produce, baked goods, homemade items and other surprises. Free-will donations will benefit the Smithville Meals on Wheels program. Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Smithville

Community members are invited to attend the annual Good Shepherd Dinner and Auction held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The dinner will be at the church, 18601 N. U.S. Highway 169.
