Precious Blood Renewal Center of Liberty

Starting at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, there will be a Healing Mass for the World Day of the Sick at Precious Blood Renewal Center, 2120 St. Gaspar Way. Those invited are those weary from physical, emotional or spiritual sickness. There is handicapped parking available.

LUMC offers Johnny’s Café on the second Saturday of each month in the Family Life Center at the Sunset campus. A free, restaurant-style lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to anyone in need of a hot meal.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Smithville

Junior high and high school-age students are invited to a post Valentine’s Day event from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at the church, 18601 U.S. Highway 169. Participants will learn about authentic friendship, the love of Christ, and have an opportunity for adoration and confession in addition to sharing company with Disney characters. Road to Peace events will begin being held every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. beginning Feb. 26. No registration required.

First Christian Church of Smithville

Money will be raised for a mission trip during a dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23, at the church, 201 N. Bridge St. There will be a silent auction during the event. The church is currently collecting items for the auction.

Baptism class will begin March 1 for children who are interested. Families can sign up via email at lara@smithvillefcc.org.

A mission trip to Chicago is planned for June 12 to 18.

A vacation Bible school planning meeting will begin at 2 p.m. March 8 at the church, 300 S. Bridge St. Members from other local congregations will attend as well.
