Discovering Spiritual Maturity class will continue at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12. Finance team volunteers will also be recognized Sunday.

Kearney men’s conference, with men from across multiple city churches including Crossroads Community Church, will take place Jan. 17 and 18 at Northern Hills Baptist Church of Holt, 17211 NE 180 St.

Liberty United Methodist Church

Liberty United Methodist Church offers Johnny’s Café on the second Saturday of each month in the Family Life Center at the Sunset campus, 1001 Sunset Ave. A free, restaurant-style lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to anyone in need of a hot meal. LUMC’s Outreach Ministries is focusing its efforts on curbing hunger in Liberty and the Northland area. Volunteers are needed to cook, set-up, serve and clean up. Contact Rick Walczak at to sign up.

First Presbyterian Church of Liberty

The church, 138 N. Main St., is offering a quiet space for the community to sit in silent contemplative prayer and meditation. The quiet time starts at 5:45 p.m., Monday evenings, in the sanctuary, with a soft gong and ends at 6:15 with a soft gong. First Baptist Church of Smithville

Food items are being collected to restock the community food pantry. For the month of January, Bridge Street Ministries needs more canned fruit, Hamburger Helper and jelly. Items can be dropped off during services.

Grace Community Church of Smithville

Members of the community are invited to pick up a reading plan to help organize reading the Bible through the year. Plans can be picked up during regular hours at the church, located at 1520 Missouri Highway DD.
