The first Worship through the Arts is 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21. The theme is “With a Little Help from My Friends” at the Sunset Campus Sanctuary, 1001 Sunset Ave. Bryan Taylor, director of Traditional Music and Worship Arts, is directing a benefit concert with a collection of Taylor’s friends to give support. Donations will be collected with proceeds benefiting this year’s concert events.

Precious Blood Renewal Center of Liberty

There will be an interfaith event celebrating hope starting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19 at the center, 2120 St. Gaspar Way. Sheila Sonnenschein, volunteer coordinator for the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom chapters in the Kansas City Metro area, will come to the Renewal Center for an interfaith celebration of hope.

Each month, Muslim and Jewish members of the Sisterhood meet in each others’ homes to dialogue with the aim of building trust and friendships. Sonnenschein will talk about her work locally, nationally and internationally with the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom. Family Worship Center of Smithville

The celebration of National Back to Church Sunday will be during services Sunday, Sept. 15, the church, located at 98 Stonebridge Lane. This event will feature worship, giveaways, a free lunch, inflatables and activities. Guests are encouraged to bring friends.
