Smithville Senior Center opens at 9 a.m. at 113 W. Main St. The senior center is open to anyone who is age 60 or older or disabled. The center is also open on Monday and Wednesdays.

Every Friday is music bingo and surf n’ turf night starts at 5 p.m. in Smithville American Legion Post No. 58, located at 2607 Missouri Highway 92.

Mom and Dad Fridays occur every third Friday of the month with children being dropped off from 6 to 10 p.m. at Shoot for the Stars, 103 James Street in Smithville. Cost is $20 per child and $15 for each additional child in the same family. M.A.D. will include a pizza dinner and juice, games, activities and some free time. Saturday, Nov. 16

Sons of the American Legion Squadron 58 will host an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Legion post. Meals are $7 for adults and $4 for children under age 4. The meal is open to the public.

Smithville’s Winter Warrior Closet will be open from 10 a.m. to noon in the trailers behind Maple Elementary School, 600 Maple Ave.

Storytime for families is at 10:30 a.m. at the Smithville branch of Mid-Continent Public Library, 120 Richardson St. Zoo to you begins at 10:30 in the community room while Kansas City Zoo staff provide touchable artifacts and a few animals. Valor Ranch will host a fundraiser dinner and dance beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Smithville American Legion. A $10 donation for Valor Ranch is requested. Performing will be Jack Klein and the Missouri Rebels Band.

Bingo is offered every Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at the Smithville American Legion. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Monday, Nov. 18
