SMITHVILLE — The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational public meeting to discuss the upcoming project for improving the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and 188th Street in Clay County. The goal of the project is to improve the sight distance along Highway 169 and add turn lanes at 188th Street.

This project is slated to begin in the fall of 2020 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2021.

The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 18601 N. U.S. 169 in Smithville.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about this project, ask any questions they may have and offer feedback to planners and engineers. No formal presentation will be given.
