KANSAS CITY — A teen is recovering from serious but not life-threatening injuries after being shot Friday, Oct. 11, in the Target parking lot, located near Barry Road and U.S. Highway 169 at 8420 Madison Ave.

According to police, the victim was located with a wound to his stomach and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

A police report states the boy was initially inside a vehicle with the person who shot him. The suspect asked the teen to get out of the vehicle and then allegedly shot him when the teen reapproached the vehicle.

No suspect information has been released.
