CLAY COUNTY — The Missouri Department of Transportation will make traffic changes as part of the Interstate 35 and Missouri Highway 152 improvement project in Liberty. Motorists should use signed detours and/or find alternate routes.

Crews will intermittently halt all traffic at the intersection of Highway 152/ Kansas Street and Conistor Street from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, for the removal of temporary traffic signals.

Crews will close one lane of northbound and southbound I-35 at Highway 152 from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday to Friday, Sept. 19 to 20, for installation of rumble strips.

"The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35 and make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291 including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes," states a MoDOT release.

The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
