Darin Lee Walker, 55, formerly of Hutchinson, died Sept. 21, 2021, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, MO. He was born July 18, 1966, in Hutchinson, to Walter E. “Sonny” and Loetta L. (Niedens) Walker.

Darin grew up and lived in Hutchinson for many years. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1984, and received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. Darin enjoyed a variety of occupations, with his most recent job working as a vessel tracking and marine engineer. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but his favorite time was spent with his daughters on their “dad and daughter date nights”. Darin also enjoyed traveling with his son to wrestling and trap shoot meets.

On July 26, 1986, he married LaNell Hart at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

Darin is survived by: his wife of 35 years, LaNell Walker; children, Bobbi Jo Gilmore (Bill), Lindsey Schwartz (Kyle), Brandon Walker (Carissa), and Riley Walker; grandson, Christopher Walker; parents, Walter “Sonny” and Loetta Walker; and siblings, Dayna Walker, Christina Walker, and Cristal Hiebert (Mike).

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastors Quentin Nuttmann and Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Darin Walker Memorial Fund or James “Buddy” Bryant Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchison, KS 67501.
