David C. Hattey, 95, Liberty, Missouri passed away September 30, 2019.

David is survived by his sons, David Brent Hattey and his wife Sheila, Kevin Hattey and his wife Cindy, and Tim Hattey and his wife Pennie; his grandchildren, Tom & Teresa Woodfin, Mark & Elena Woodfin, Jason & Shelly Hattey, Kristi & Ray Pirko, Erin Hattey, Stephanie & Camryn Soria, and Jessica Hattey; his great-grandchildren, Hattie Woodfin, Moses Woodfin, Jenny Hattey, Katie Hattey, Jake Hattey, Cole Harper, Jack Harper, and Hazel Harper; his sister, Jeanette Jackson; his sister-in-law, Dona Hattey; and his brother-in-law, Larry Stubbs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 67 years, Doris Hattey; his daughter, Teresa “Teri” Woodfin; and several of his siblings.

David grew up in Independence/Bates City and graduated William Chrisman High School. He served in the Army during World War II where he met his beloved wife while manufacturing C-rations and K-rations in Independence, Missouri. They owned and operated the Scotty’s Motel in Colorado Springs, CO for 6 years before they returned to Liberty and purchased the Highlander Laundromat. David also worked for Westinghouse for over 17 years and 12 years for the Liberty Schools as a custodian. David was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Liberty. He loved gardening, flowers, bird watching and being outside in nature.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, October 4, 2019, at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Saturday, October 5th, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery of Independence, MO.
