Dorothy E. Covey, 71, of Liberty, MO, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 30, 2020, at home. Private family services will be conducted at Glenridge Cemetery. A celebration of her Life will be announced at a later date.

Dorothy was born July 23, 1948, in Kansas City, MO, to John and Lucy McGuire. She married the love of her life, William Covey, September 20, 1971. Dorothy cared for others for her entire life, she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, Activities Director, Bath Aide, Hydration Specialist, Medical Records and others at Pleasant Valley Manor for over 30 years, and has been in the industry for over 50 years. Her greatest passions were her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening, cruises and camping. Dorothy enjoyed baking and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy McGuire; her nine siblings, John, William, Blanche, Alice, Patsy, Barbara, Grover, Robert, and Mary Lou.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, William Covey; her children, Billy Covey, and Tammy Friend (Harry); her grandchildren, Allison Ferris (Hunter), and Austin Friend; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 816-781-2000.
