Gerald “Jerry” Ellsworth Wogomon, 78, of Liberty, Missouri, died Jan. 5, 2021, at Liberty Hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Elkhart, Indiana, son of George and Dorothy (Darst) Wogomon. The family lived in Elkhart and later moved to Dorothy’s native region, the Madison, Missouri, area. Jerry graduated Moberly High School in 1960 and attended Moberly (Missouri) Junior College. On April 11, 1964, he married Ellen Morris in Moberly, Missouri. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas, in 1964 and Jerry worked at General Motors.

Jerry enjoyed a full life dedicated to his family and friends. He was an avid gun collector in his later years. He enjoyed hunting/shooting, fishing/boating, golf and watching old movies, especially those with John Wayne.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brian.

Jerry will be missed by his wife, Ellen, of the home; his son, Scott, and wife, Sheila (Yoder), and granddaughter, Emma Grace, of Blue Springs, Missouri; his son, Grant, of Liberty, and grandson, Alex, and wife, Ashlynn (Stumph), of Liberty.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, Missouri Department of Conservation or the American Diabetes Association. Services under the direction of White Chapel Funeral Home.
