Mike was born on Jan. 28, 1952 and graduated from West Platte High School, Weston, MO, in 1970. He attended William Jewel College, Liberty, MO. Mike realized he was neither an indoor person nor academically inclined and was easily persuaded to join his lifelong best friend David “Bird” Zerger in the construction field. Starting out as a basic laborer with a company specializing in water proofing, his work ethic and mastery of the work soon saw him promoted to supervisor and ultimately into management as a project estimator and field supervisor. After 38 years with Chamberlin Contracting, Mike successfully lived his dream of owning his own business, Leak Solutions Plus, Waterproofing LLC, in partnership with his son Russ.

Mike’s loves were his children, grandchildren and wife, siblings and friends with golf following up in the rear.

Always an inwardly spiritual person, Mike’s spirituality girded him with his heroic fight against a rare form of bone cancer.

A gentle and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Mike warmly welcomed any and all into his and Denise’ home and lives.

We all love and miss him dearly.

There will be a celebration of Michel’s life at Saint James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO, date to be announced. All will be welcome.
