It is Earth Day celebration time and with this, it brings to mind the plethora of trash thrown all around our community.

While attending the wonderful Liberty Public Schools Vision 20 program presented by superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker, I had the opportunity to talk to a principal and a student about an idea. Both liked the idea.

Prior to the program, many students were there showing unbelievable technological and engineering projects they had built. This assured me the students had terrific ability and could carry forth this idea.

The student liked the idea of doing a cartoon and suggested a video designed by the high school.

This would have the theme of “Don’t Trash Me” and would be shown annually to all Liberty grade school children. Hopefully producing a lasting impact now and in the future for our community and the world.

I could see kids saying to parents, “Don’t throw stuff out the car window” and “Don’t trash.”
