Julia's Warriors Run for Hope treks on

From left, Ashley Johnson, Morgan Muths, Justin Ferrell and Troy Bargman pose for a photo after a successful run of the annual Julia's Warriors Run for Hope. Bargman, sharing the same last name, as well as Ferrell are nephews of the namesake Julia Bargman, running to support breast cancer awareness. Julia was a track coach and beloved resident of Smithville until losing her life to breast cancer about 10 years ago. Johnson turned out for the race to help support friend Muths who is the girlfriend of Julia's son. "I do it for family," Muths said. Both girls agree that they have known several people who have gone through breast cancer in addition to the Smithville native. Winners of the annual race Saturday, Oct. 10 were Brandon Young, fastest male overall coming in with a time of 18:39 and Margaret Chamas, fasted female overall clocking a time of 19:24.
