Annual managed deer hunt returns for 30th year

SMITHVILLE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will celebrate its 30th year hosting a special deer hunt for disabled hunters Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23 and 24, at Smithville Lake.

All hiking and biking trails along Smithville Lake will be closed during the event.

There will be 60 deer blinds accessible by vehicle in and around designated park areas and waterfowl refuge.
