KEARNEY — Children in Dogwood Elementary School's Kids Club made treats and card to show Kearney police officers their appreciation for keeping them and their city safe.

Students presented the card and treats to officers earlier this month during a visit from some of Kearney's men in blue.

“They shared some time with officers and got to ask questions (of) our local heroes,” states a school district social media post about the event.

The posterboard-sized card included drawings of officers with names of dozens of students in the club.

“Wee see you, we appreciate you, and you truly are a hero,” the card reads.
