Internship program seeks student applicants

Bank of America's Student Leaders internship program allows participants to build their leadership skills through an eight-week, paid summer internship at a local nonprofit.

Kansas City metropolitan area students are invited to apply for a Bank of America Student Leaders internship that takes place over the summer.

Approaching its 16th year, Student Leaders allows participants to build their leadership skills through an eight-week, paid summer internship at a local nonprofit. Additionally, students will attend the national Bank of America Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., where they will discuss how to get more engaged and inclusive while also exploring how cross-sector collaboration can maximize the community benefits of their work.

"Through our Student Leaders program, we connect more than 300 community-minded high school juniors and seniors from nearly 100 communities to employment, skills development and service. They're awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity," states the Bank of America website.

Northland junior and senior high school students can apply online at cybergrants.com/pls/cybergrants/quiz.display_question?x_gm_id=1499&x_quiz_id=5082&x_order_by=1. Applications are due by Jan. 31.

Internships pay $17 per hour.
