LIBERTY — At the June Board of Education meeting, Liberty Public Schools approved contract on a trial basis with Kelly Services.

Kelly Services provides substitute teachers throughout the year. All substitutes who were being used by the district will be offered a position via Kelly Services, as requested by the board.

Members of the board expressed that loyalty to those substitute teachers who had been working for the district was important and Kelly Services, according to administration, agreed offering each of them positions to continue serving LPS.

"The district has seen a steady decline in substitute fill-rate percentages in recent years and is confident that Kelly Services has the proven track record to significantly improve in this area," the district stated in a newsletter.
