SMITHVILLE — After Smithville soccer finished its own invitational tournament without a single goal, the Warriors fired away over its next two games as the team outscored its opponents 10-1.

Smithville started with a 6-1 win over Ruskin before beating Winnetonka 4-0. Max Dolloff scored twice against Ruskin while Regan Dunn and Wes Pryor scored a goal in each game. Marcus Eastridge and Nick Harlin scored goals in the Ruskin game. Lawson Richards and Noah Whitacre scored against Winnetonka, with Whitacre’s goal coming on a penalty kick.

The Warriors offense recovered from the Smithville Invitational where the team lost to Park Hill 1-0 before 0-0 draws against Staley and Harrisonville. Park Hill ran away with 9-point performance in the standings as it beat Harrisonville 5-1 before a 1-0 win over Staley, who took second with 4 points over Smithville’s 2 points.

Smithville will head to Excelsior Springs for a nonconference game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1.
