SMITHVILLE — Smithville’s swim team wrapped up their regular season by finishing second in the Suburban Conference Blue Division. The meet was competed at Belton High School on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Warriors finished the meet with 386 points, while Kearney secured the conference title with 481 points.
Smithville’s Lukas Zolynas won the 200-yard freestyle with a team of 1:59 to become the conference champion. Zolynas finished in second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:25. Smithville earned another state champion with Tristan Pottebaum winning the 100-yard freestyle.
He finished in a time of 56.59. Curt Bollinger finished second place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:21.
The Warriors will be back in the pool for the state championship located in St. Peters. The two-day event will begin on Friday, Nov. 11.
