Kearney, Smithville eye season-best performances in Suburban Blue Conference

Reagan Bonderer earned a second-place medal in the 200-yard medley at the Suburban Blue Conference Championship.

Kearney girls swimming and diving team finished in second place at the Suburban Blue Conference Championship for the second straight season.

Marie Bolton helped lead the way for the Bulldogs this past weekend in individual events, taking home first place in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle for the second year in a row. Reagan Bonderer earned a second-place medal in the 200-yard medley. Kearney had third-place finishes from Chloe Bonderer in the 200 free, Ruby Dunn in the 500 free and Payton Morrison in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Claire Woehrman snagged fourth place in the 500 free. Jillian Bonderer got fifth place in the 100 breaststroke and Carley Clawson took fifth in the 50 free.

In relays, Kearney won first place in the 400 free, second in the 200 medley and 200 free.


The Smithville Warriors won multiple medals as individuals and one as a relay team at the conference meet.

Lillian Palmer earned first place in the 100 backstroke and second place in 100 fly. Trinity Riecker netted two silver medals in the 50 and 100 free.

Lillian Medley snagged a fourth-place medal. Carlisle Palmer finished with two fifth-place finishes in the 200 and 500 free.

Smithville took second in the 200 medley relay.
