KEARNEY — Last week, Kearney High School hosted the Class 2 District 8 individual tennis tournament at Clayview. Attending the district tournament were Grain Valley, Platte County, St. Pius X, Kearney, Ft. Osage, William Chrisman and Winnetonka.

KEANREY — Senior night looked different for the Kearney girls tennis team this year. The Bulldogs were slated to play Lincoln Prep Academy, but their opponents weren’t able to make it due to a lack of transportation.

KEARNEY — The Bulldogs girls tennis team competed in their first conference match against William Chrisman the week of Sept. 9 at Kearney High School's courts and came away with a big win at 9-0 for varsity.

KEARNEY — Kearney senior Sara Dillon completed her girls tennis career with a short run at state. Dillon lost both of her matches at the Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 2 girls tennis championships Thursday, Oct. 15.

LIBERTY — Liberty’s Rebecca Floray refused to let an early loss deter her at the Missouri High School Activities Association Class 3 girls tennis championships on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 15-16 at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

LIBERTY — Senior Lily Reeder and sophomore Georgia Carter made history for the Liberty North girls tennis team as the doubles team became the first state qualifiers in Eagles history. The duo won the Class 3 District 8 doubles championship at individual districts on Friday, Oct. 2.
