KEARNEY — The tennis courts are back to being filled with happy faces this fall. A new season approaches as new faces fill the roster sheet while old ones are give the Bulldog team experience.
Kearney tennis’ head coach is Kaitlyn LaFrenz, starting her fourth season at the helm of the program.
“This season, our team has a strong set of leaders. These leaders stepped into their roles before the season even started and are eager and motivated to push the team to be successful,” LaFrenz said.
The Bulldogs will return a group of seniors that will be key to the team’s success.
Alayna Dostal, Autumn Ash, Abigail Stamper and Jaeden Hoegler have all been a part of the varsity squad in the past and will be important pieces to the team this season.
LaFrenz shared that the popularity in Kearney tennis has exploded. The Bulldogs have 49 players on their roster this year as they have gained 18 new players.
The first match for Kearney will be against Liberty North at home on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
