KEARNEY — Kearney boys golf took first place in a triangular against Excelsior Springs and KC Center Thursday, April 15 at Excelsior Springs Golf Course.

The Bulldogs earned a 176 team score to stay well ahead of the 215 score for Excelsior Springs.

Canton Woods, Ian Acosta and Brayden Schweizer had a three-way tie for the top spot with each shooting a 43. Jaron McClaron and Mason Kutch were right behind them with 44s while Christopher Collins shot a 45.

The Bulldogs were riding high off a second-place finish in the Oak Park Invitational Tournament April 12 at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. Kearney had a 346 team score with Acosta and McClaron tying for eighth with a score of 85.

Kearney is set to face Liberty North 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course. The Bulldogs will play next in a Highway 92 Rivalry triangular against Smithville and Platte County on Tuesday, April 27 at Shiloh Springs Golf Course in Platte City.
