LIBERTY — Liberty High School multi-sport athlete Ashton Maloney is enjoying a successful summer on the diamond.

Maloney, who also plays basketball and soccer, helped her summer club team, the Demarini Aces, post a 13-0 record in claiming the Boulder IDT Invitational Tournament title in early July in Boulder, Colorado.

The Aces, who were named the Extra Innings Softball National Club Team of the Week following the Boulder title, added a Team 1 National Championship trophy to their accomplishments on July 14.

Maloney, a junior-to-be, has been a force for the Blue Jays softball program in her first two seasons at the prep level.

She hit for the first cycle in LHS history as a freshman in a conference game against St. Joseph Central. Maloney went on to collect an all-state honor in her freshman and sophomore campaigns.
